A New Cryptzone Product, And Why This Is Important
Today, the entire Cryptzone team is thrilled to announce the launch of a new product, AppGate XDP. Like our original AppGate, the new AppGate XDP product is designed to provide secure, user-centric access to network resources. AppGate XDP has a newly patented, state-of-the-art architecture that’s designed to address the dynamic and real-time nature of cloud-based resources. Specifically, AppGate XDP is intended for use to control access to public and private cloud infrastructure resources. It detects new server instances created within the cloud, and automatically adjusts user access rights based on a combination of server attributes and user context.
Why is this important?
Most organizations have much more dynamic, cloud-focused IT infrastructures than they used to with a much larger and more diverse user population which must be able to access resources for compelling business needs. These changes bring with them serious security challenges. As we’ve written about previously, and as many enterprises have experienced first-hand, traditional network security tools fall short of meeting these security needs.
Even with tremendous investment into security technology, and with ongoing labor-intensive activities by InfoSec teams, organizations are unable to achieve effective network security. Users simply end up with far broader network access than they need, a gap that’s consistently exploited by attackers.
With AppGate XDP, that’s no longer the case – organizations can use it to close this security gap, and ensure that users only have network access that corresponds to their set of authorized applications – across public cloud, private cloud, and traditional on-premises IT infrastructures.
In addition to these capabilities, AppGate XDP is also designed for cloud service providers – either commercial service providers or teams acting as such within an enterprise – with built-in support for management of multi-tenant environments, with delegated administration capabilities.
We’re excited about this new release, and looking forward to collaborating with our customers and partners on as they begin using it. For complete information on this new release, see today’s press release here.
